I believe that when a person feels valued, supported, and truly heard they can begin to forge the path that will lead them to self-fulfillment and deep, satisfying relationships with others.

Emily has worked as a Clinical Social Worker throughout the Chicago region for 18 years, providing therapy and counseling to adults, teens and children in a variety of contexts.

Emily specializes in assisting clients struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, and life challenges. She works with clients to identify the areas of their lives that they would like to improve, helping them find new perspective, improve key relationships, and develop healthy patterns. She guides clients in developing new, adaptive strategies to manage stress and increase resiliency.

Emily also specializes in therapy with children and teens, treating issues including behavioral challenges, low self-esteem, anxiety/depression, and stress relating to school performance and peer relationships. Parents receive support and guidance to improve communication with their children, reduce conflict in the home, and learn better strategies to assist children in managing stress and difficult situations.

Treatment specialties include:

  • anxiety

  • depression

  • trauma/PTSD

  • relationship and parenting challenges

  • career support

  • first responder support

  • children’s issues

  • LGBTQ-allied

  • Culturally competent

Emily utilizes a relational approach, and tailors treatment to each client’s individual needs, incorporating elements of Psychodynamic and Mindfulness in her practice. Clients are met at their own personal readiness for change, and goals are set and accomplished at a client’s pace.

A mother of two, Emily understands the complex challenges of parenting from both a professional as well as a personal level. She works hand-in-hand with parents to find methods that work for both the child and parents, resulting in lasting change.
